Latest edition of Cinema Verite film festival in Iran is scheduled to screen Congo-set film 'Mama Colonel' by Dieudo Hamadi.
The 11th edition of “Cinema Verite” Iran International Documentary Film Festival will show the doc follows the work of a senior Congolese policewoman in charge of stopping sexual violence and physical abuse against women and children in Democratic Republic of the Congo.
The award-winning film collected prizes at various international film events, most notably Cinéma du Réel in France and Berlin Filmfest in Germany.
The mama at the center of this film is Honorine Munyole, head of a police unit dedicated to the protection of minors in Congolese city of Bukavu.
Organized by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC), 2017 Cinema Verite is to be held on December 10-17 in Tehran.
The event will be held by the Documentary and Experimental Film Center (DEFC) which is the largest center for production, distribution and promotion of documentary, animated and experimental pictures in the Middle East.
